Spring 2015

Spring 2015 brought quite a few surprises for Shane and I......one that would change our life forever!

The first surprise was when I was called as the young women president in January! I was shocked...and terrified! But it has been the most amazing experience. My councilors (Auralee Brookes and Avalon Park) are amazing! They do just as much as I do. Our secretary is awesome too-It was Tracy Allred, and now it is Rebecca Davis. Both fabulous! Most of all I love the girls, they sure are special. They have already taught me so much. They are strong, faithful, beautiful and talented. I can't wait to see what these next few years with them will bring! Here are some pictures of what we have done this Spring.
 Ice Skating in February!
Manti Temple Trip

Skeet Shooting!

Shane had roses delivered to the door on Valentines Day! I was thrilled! It definitely made the day special.

Our next BIG surprise was in February....I found out I was expecting!! We were ecstatic. I definitely feel like it was time for us to have a baby! We didn't tell our family until Easter, I wanted to wait until I was 12 weeks along and past the first trimester. It was such an exciting day! We couldn't be happier or more excited about the greatest adventure we are going to have. :)

We announced the big news to my side of the family by hiding this message in some easter eggs. Then we gave them the easter eggs and they opened it. Everyone was pretty excited, my mom cried, I cried too of course! It was a fun day.

We announced it to the Blackett side of the family the next day. We were celebrating Morris' birthday as well as Easter. So we wrapped up baby clothes and a binky with a note that said: Dear Grandpa, You better keep these items at your house. My mom and dad are bound to forget them when we come to visit in October. Love, Baby Blackett. As you can see from the video, he was shocked when he opened it, and then he started crying. Everyone was so excited. It was so much fun! Both Marci and Tenille say they are done having kids, and the youngest grandchild is 4, so they are ecstatic to have a new baby in the family!

Here are some other fun things that went down this Spring:

Johanna and I took a trip down to Cedar City to visit our favorite people! We stayed at Janelle's house, and met everyone else at Chile's. We sat and talked for FIVE hours until it was closing time. It seriously felt like we were back in college. What a blast! I love these girls.

Shane and his brother Brady got tickets to several Ute's Basketball games. I went to a couple of them. I always had fun, but it was probably the highlight of Shane's spring! :) Also, side note about the outfit I am wearing: One day I came home from school and there were a couple packages on the counter with a note from Shane. It said they were for me, love Shane. I opened them up and it was a new outfit! He just did it to surprise me, ordered the clothes all by himself. I was so excited! I have the best husband.

Fun family night with the Blackett's at Extreme Airsports in Provo!

Marci let us have her tickets, which were really good ones, to the Jazz game! We got to go "backstage" and meet the famous basketball player Memhet Okur! He is so tall compared to us haha. It was really fun!

We had such a fun time going on a razor ride up Nephi canyon, with our awesome neighbors Hilary and Tim Dyering. They are a lot of fun to hang out with. Great date night!

One of our favorite spring events of course, is the Dance Revue. It is a great reminder of when we got engaged (2 years ago!) and we get to watch our cute nieces and nephew! Here is a picture with Kinsley, Tenley, Macy, and Oaklee. They are so adorable!

I was absolutely spoiled for Teacher Appreciate Week! Look at my cute door and all my gifts. I had a wonderful 2013-14 class! I love them all.

On Mother's Day we got to Skype with Logan and Preston. They wanted to see each other as well, and the only way we could think to do that was have them each on a computer, and then turn them to see each other. It worked out well! Here is my mom and dad listening in on Logan and Preston's
conversation.

Here are some of the Young Women and us leaders when we went through the open house of the Payson Temple!! It was absolutely breath taking, stunning! This was a very special temple to us. Not only was it now our temple in our district, but we were working very hard at the time to get ready for the Payson Temple Culture Celebration coming up in June. You will see more on that later!

Our ward was able to volunteer one night to help with the open house. The guys needed to help in the parking lot, so that is what Shane did. I helped at the elevators! Which was fun because I was able to talk to people in the elevator. Great experience!

Spring Fling at Mona Elementary! 2015. Although this event is A LOT of work (Us teachers have to make up the dance and practice many hours with the kids) it is always so worth it! The kids do so well and we all have a blast. This year we did a "disco" theme. This event is around the last week of school. Every year I don't think I will cry the last day of school, but I always do! I grow to love each and every student so much like they are my own. Sometimes it's hard to see them go and know you won't teach them again. But then you get another bunch you love just as much. But it was definitely a great year with this fun bunch of cuties!

Winter Wonderland

December always brings that magical feeling of Christmas in the air! We had a lot of fun memories in the Winter of 2014, here are some of our favorites:

I absolutely LOVE making gingerbread houses. Every year in college my roommates and I had a gingerbread making party, and Shane and I did it while we were dating. I decided to keep up the tradition and have our own gingerbread house making party! :)
We love our nieces and nephews! Having them over is one of our favorite things to do!

One of our funnest dates so far has been going to the Utah vs. BYU basketball game. We always get funny looks as we are walking/sitting together holding hands, yet Shane is wearing a Utah shirt and me a BYU one haha. We have fun trash talking each others teams. Even though the Utes won, it was a blast!

The Tolman Family Christmas party is always memorable. My grandma makes it so special every year. It is tradition for her to read a story and give a little present that represents that story. We used to have the party at the cabin in Fairview, which I really miss. But our family is getting to big to do that! I love this picture of grandma and her sister, Aunt Mary Louise. Grandma Tolman has always been such a good example to me!

We went about 3 months without a couch because I wanted to save up for some nice ones i really liked! We decided to purchase some for Christmas, they actually came on Christmas Eve! I was so excited to finally have a couch!

Christmas in our new house was a lot of fun! I woke up in the middle of the night to put together Shane's present! It was very heavy so it took a while. Shane woke up while I was downstairs, and he said he panicked and thought I had been kidnapped! haha. Luckily I heard him upstairs, and came up and told him I had forgetton to wrap a few presents for our families. He believed me which made his present a complete surprise!

Shane had two surprises this Christmas! Brady and Tenille surprised Shane with Rose Bowl tickets! He was pretty excited about that. Brady and Shane both got tickets to go in a couple weeks.

My favorite Christmas tradition is going to my parents house Christmas morning! I love watching the nieces and nephews open up their presents and having fun with each other. Here is Oaklee, Jaiden, and Jense on Christmas morning at my parents house in Genola.

Hayden and my dad on Hayden's new scooter!
Shane and I Christmas morning!

Another fun tradition is going to Shane's parents house Christmas evening. We always do the nativity skit! The guys always come up with the most creative costumes...as you can see;)

We hadn't had hardly any snow all winter...Christmas morning we woke up to several inches of snow! We definitely got what we wished for...a white Christmas! Here is Shane and Cooper shoveling our driveway the day after Christmas.

Over Christmas break me and my friend Johanna had the chance to go snowshoeing for the first time! We went to Sundance. It was a blast!!

Fun Fall Memories

Fall is both me and Shane's favorite season! I love everything about it: back to school, falling leaves, Halloween, etc. Here are some of my favorite memories from fall 2014.

First day of school at Mona Elementary! I am so blessed to be a teacher at the same school that my nieces and nephews go to. I get to see them everyday! Kinsley and Oaklee started Kindergarten this year. I love seeing them in the halls!

Shane and I got to take a trip down to Cedar for Fall break. We love going to our favorite city! I love that I get to see Janelle and some of my other college friends, like Morgan and Allie.
One of my best friends, Katie, and her husband Jeremy were getting sealed in the St. George temple! They invited us to be there. It was such a special day! The spirit was so strong and I am so happy Shane and I were able to be apart of it. It also reminded me of the covenants Shane and I made when we were sealed... and how grateful I am to be able to be together for eternity with the man I love more than anything!

Like I have have said, we moved into our new house in October. But did I mention we didn't have any furniture? No couches, no TV, no table. Just some barstools at our island. So Shane had the brilliant idea to eat our Sunday dinner out on our deck (his favorite part of the house). It was pretty darn fun, even if we did have to use totes for a table! haha.

Shane and I picked up a new hobby...beekeeping! It's been fun. Conference weekend we were able to harvest the honey with the Bailey's. We got about 4 gallons of delicious honey!

Shane and I love to have our nieces and nephews over! They are the cutest things, and so much fun. We made Halloween sugar cookies with 10 of them over..needless to say, it was pretty messy! But a lot of fun!
Are they not the cutest things you have ever seen? :)

So, funny story. I had bought these lovely wonder woman pj's for pajama day at school. (Our theme in 4th grade is heroes). I went to Shane's work to drop him off something and say hi. I don't think I've mentioned that one of my best friends, Johanna, works at Be Young with Shane! She is my friend that got back from her mission in Tawain this past summer. She lives in provo but we got her a job working here in Nephi. I love seeing her every week! Anyway, I show up wearing this, and she was wearing the exact same thing!! She was going to a costume party and had bought the same pj's. It was hilarious. I love Johanna!
I love my job! Dressing up for Halloween is my favorite. I am so blessed to have the best co-workers. Jordan and Lyndsay are two of the funniest girls I know. We decided to dress up at fairies this year:)

Like I said, I love dressing up for Halloween! Lucky for me, Shane will usually dress up with me. This year we were Batman and Robbin :)
Necole had a Halloween party at her house this year. It's a tradition that we tie donuts to strings and have a competition who can eat it the fastest, (with no hands of course). Shane had fun helping with this one, as you can tell from the pics. haha.
I think Spencer won funniest costume this year ;)
For my birthday, I had a fun girls night with all my sisters, sister in laws, and mother in law to see the new Hunger Games Mocking Jay movie. We had a blast! I am so blessed to have such a fun family.
It has also been tradition that Shane plays in the Turkey bowl in Richfield every year the day after Thanksgiving. I always enjoy going down to watch him play. They won first place for the second year in a row! I must be good luck;)

CrossFit is another hobby of ours! We have a small group that comes in the mornings. One morning we did 100 burpees! It actually wasn't as hard as it seemed. haha. We have fun working out with everyone.
